Our Background
Duke Point Truck Recyclers was founded in 2003 by Rick Stewart of Nanaimo. Having worked in the recycling industry since he was 15 years old, Rick is a seasoned automotive recycling expert.
Rick began his career at United Auto Parts in Surrey while in high school, and continued to work in wrecking yards for the next 20 plus years, until he finally took ownership of Valley Auto Recyclers in 1995.
Inspired by the natural beauty of Vancouver Island, Rick made the move here in 2003, and went on to open Duke Point Truck Recycling. Rick’s goals, to build a truck recycling centre with a higher level of quality and professionalism than was generally associated with the auto wrecking industry.
Today, Rick and his son Nathan continue to operate this thriving business by serving a diverse mix of local customers at their retail location in Duke Point, and internationally through various online channels.
